This 1978 Vespa Piaggio Bravo Super Deluxe moped is said to have spent four decades with its original owner before it was acquired by the seller in 2018. The moped is finished in blue and powered by a 49cc two-stroke single paired with an automatic clutch and a variator. Equipment includes bicycle-style pedals for starting, a solo seat, a six-volt charging system, a luggage rack, a center stand, side storage compartments, drum brakes, and 16″ wire-spoke wheels. Work under current ownership included replacing the battery and fuel filter in addition to oiling the pedal chain. This Bravo Special Deluxe is now offered at no reserve in California with a tool kit, an owner’s manual, factory literature, and a bill of sale.

The step-through frame and fenders are finished in blue and the headlight bucket, driveline covers, and side storage compartment covers are finished in metallic silver. Details include a 0.8-gallon fuel tank, a solo seat, a luggage rack with a spring-loaded chrome clamp, a center stand, a steering lock, street lighting, and a mudflap on the front fender. Wire-spoke 16″ wheels are laced to hubs with drum brakes and are mounted with older Pirelli tires. Suspension is handled by a telescopic fork as well as a swingarm mounted with dual shrouded shocks.

The chrome handlebar features a rear brake lever and horn button on the left and a twist-grip throttle, a front brake lever, and run and turn-signal switches on the right. A Velgia Borletti 40-mph speedometer is inset into the headlight bucket. The five-digit odometer shows 395 miles, 75 of which have been ridden by the seller.

The pedal-started 49cc two-stroke single features rotary induction, a single carburetor, a six-volt charging system, and an exhaust system that exits low on the right side of the bike. The battery is located in the right-side storage compartment, and it, along with the fuel filter, are said to have been replaced under current ownership.

Power is sent to the rear wheel through an automatic centrifugal clutch and a variator with a belt. There is a button on the rear hub to disengage the drive for pedal-only operation. The pedal chain was oiled under current ownership.
