First-time quick take

Shitty Stock Freewheels Suck Shit

Sick and tired of those shitty stock freewheels that can't handle the might of your badass upgrades? It's high time you made the switch to a robust welded freewheel!

Regenerative Braking Is Totally Tits

Ditching the stock option for a welded freewheel means more than just durability. It guarantees constant motor engagement, letting you tap into the full power of motor regeneration (braking) with your belt kit. This magic not only feeds energy back into your battery, slightly boosting your range, but also goes easy on your brake pads, saving you some cash in the long run.

Reliability

Elevate your ride with a welded freewheel and embrace confidence like never before! Leave behind the nagging worries of unexpected freewheel breakdowns. A welded freewheel doesn't just eliminate the risk of breakage; it also significantly reduces wear on your entire drivetrain. By neutralizing the harsh forces exerted by a freewheel in motion, you're ensuring extended longevity for your motor, chain, mounts, and every other component linked to your drivetrain. Upgrade today for a more dependable and enduring ride experience.

Predictability

Want more predictability while stunting? With constant motor engagement, you no longer experience a random delay or an unpredictable surge of power when you twist your throttle. Instead, you receive consistently smooth and predictable power delivery every time.

Installation

The text goes facing out.  There are a few good options to get the freewheel off:

  1. Use the freewheel removal tool with an impact wrench, possibly an impact driver, or a large hand wrench.  If you use a wrench,  use the axle and the axle nuts to hold the tool down while you crank on it.
  2. Split it with a grinder like I show in the video above
  3. Go to your local bike shop and have them get it off
  4. Get a new wheel from razor as they are pretty cheap and it's good to have a spare.

Questions?

How do I install it on my bike?

Check out the installation guide

Regen?

Absolutely. Just be sure to not overheat your motor and weld your freewheel.

SX vs MX?

The MX and SX have the same distance from the motor to the rear wheel so the belt length is the same.

What about all the other Razor models?

Maybe later. Let me know what model of Razor you want a belt drive kit for next by filling out this form.

What about the old chain tensioner?

Try to unscrew it. I didn't have much luck unscrewing mine so i just cut the bitch out.

What about the old freewheel?

Freewheel stays but needs to be fixed/welded. The rear pulley mounts on to the freewheel just like the old sprocke. Highly recommended using a welded freewheel as this reduces wear and tear on your drivetrain drastically.

Should I worry about snapping a belt?

One time I snapped a belt while testing the limits of the belt's tension. Under normal tension the belt should not snap or skip. If you hear skipping you should check the tension on your belt. Be sure to check out our installation guide for proper installation techniques.

Does it squeek in the rain like my car belt?

No. Only v-belts do this. Timing belts don't slip or squeak even when soaking wet.

Mud?

Not so much with the V1 kit. The V2 kit has slots for debris to pass through the pulleys if you do a lot of mud trails.

What is better for off road riding?

For hardcore off road riding where sticks and shits gets in the gears chain may be better. Most hardcore dirt bike riders use chains. Probably for a good reason. I am working on a tool free belt replacement option that may work well for this scenario.
