Tia McKenzie is a Clarksdale, Mississippi, native. She earned her Master of Arts in Journalism at the University of Mississippi. Prior to Ole Miss, Tia attended Tougaloo College and earned her bachelor’s degree in mass communication.
While at Tougaloo, Tia served as a writer for the Harambee Newspaper, as well as producer and anchor for Eagle Eye News. She credits Tougaloo College for helping her establish her foundation in storytelling.
Tia served as music director and disc jockey for Rebel Radio 92.1 FM at the University of Mississippi. She produced an array of content, including her very first documentary.
In her spare time, Tia enjoys reading, listening to music, and walking her dog. Educate, inspire, and empower are three words Tia lives by.
