Following Queen Elizabeth's passing last September, the royals have begun to find their footing in their new roles—King Charles is now the monarch, Prince William and Kate Middleton are now the Prince and Princess of Wales. Across the pond, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle continue to navigate what post-royal life looks like for them, and the spotlight was on Harry in a big way at the start of this year as he released his explosive memoir, Spare.

The year began with King Charles attending New Year's Day service at the Church of St Mary Magdalene on the Sandringham estate with his wife, Queen Camilla.
Princess Anne's role as her brother's trusted confidant was on display early in 2023. She was photographed attending church with Charles in Sandringham.
King Charles and Queen Camilla shared a sweet moment during a reception to celebrate the second anniversary of The Reading Room at Clarence House. Camilla had just recovered from her second bout with COVID-19.

Kate and William visited south Wales to promote mental health initiatives, and while they were there, took part in a 45-second cycling race. Kate—despite being in a skirt and heels!—emerged victorious.
It was the first big joint outing of the year for the royal family, and King Charles and Queen Camilla were accompanied by the Prince and Princess of Wales, Princess Anne and her husband Sir Tim Laurence, and Prince Edward and Sophie, the newly minted Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh.
The King and Queen Consort undertook the first State Visit of Charles's reign, traveling to Germany on a three day trip. Here, they attended a State Banquet at Schloss Bellevue, and Camilla wore her go-to Boucheron Honeycomb Tiara.
To share the invitation to the coronation, Buckingham Palace released a new portrait of Charles and Camilla, taken last month in the Blue Drawing Room at the Palace.
