A sous chef has created works of art at a Windsor hotel using the simple ingredients of flour, salt and water.
Prasad Sivan, 45, from Chalvey, started crafting his salt-dough masterpieces when he joined the Harte and Garter Hotel as a chef three years ago.
His recipe involves mixing one kilogram of salt and flour then adding water to make dough, which he shapes into a range of quirky designs.
His creations, which include a model castle and a scene from a bustling kitchen, now stand proudly on display at the hotel in Windsor High Street.
Prasad, who grew up in Kerala, India, said: “It’s obviously very nice.
“When you’re shaping the dough it’s a bit like guesswork and drawing.”
Marie Staddon, sales manager at The Harte and Garter Hotel, said: “It just gives the displays a real wow factor, especially when they’re on display during conferences and weddings.
“It’s something that no-one else in the area has.”
