“Libra is ruled by Venus, the planet of beauty and sensuality," Johnson says. "The element associated with Libra is air, and it shows in their superpower ability to charm and socialise with people from all walks of life.”
What are the typical Libra personality traits?
Astrologers believe that your star sign indicates a few things about your natural personality type. For Libras, the common personality traits are, as the scales would suggest, a commitment to balance, justice and harmony. They are also typically open, honest and charming.
“My clients with strong Libra placements are often in the beauty industry or in fields where negotiations have to be made, for example politics,” explains Johnson. “Generally speaking they have an incredible eye for design.”

“Libra’s have a high degree of social intelligence, on the darker side they are known for social climbing, as they can see who has a certain level of power and status that can help them with their strategic goals,” Johnson adds. “You’ll often catch those with strong Libra placements campaign and protest for the rights of others, as they want to play their part in ‘the greater good’.”
Misconceptions about Libras
According to Johnson, there are a few common misconceptions about Libras. “Across social media I often see people say how superficial and fake those with strong Libra placements can be, but there’s often a bigger story at play behind the mask,” she tells us. “As Libras are always trying to find balance within themselves, they can feel lost and potentially insecure about who they are at the core. So, before you judge a Libra, take some time to build trust with them, as they will find even more strength to be vulnerable in your relationship/friendship.”
Libra compatibility for love and friendship
We all want to know who we are compatible with and who rubs us the wrong way. While our astrological sign can help us decipher compatibility, it's not always all that simple. “It’s too broad to say which signs are compatible with Libras as the chart per person is very specific,” explains Johnson. In other words, some Libras might match well with an Aquarius, while others may not, depending on the rest of their star chart.
In general, however, Libras are thought to be compatible with Fire and Air signs — these include Aries, Leo, and Sagittarius and Gemini, Libra, and Aquarius respectively. Johnson recommends delving deeper into your unique star chart to find out more about your unique compatibility potential with each sign.

- Understanding who you are at a soul level is a lifetime journey, don’t rush the process as there are parts of us that are constantly evolving.
- Whenever you’re feeling indecisive, take a step back and feel into what resonates with you and your long term goals, rather than picking the choice that looks good on paper.
- If you have some perfectionist tendencies, just remember that mastery isn’t an overnight process. Build a relationship with your inner critic, as it’ll help you to take creative control, and you’ll get to understand whether your thoughts are genuine concerns or if they are a fearful illusion.
