Taylor Swift may not have been on the celebrity Halloween party scene this weekend, but the singer did treat fans to a full look at her very wholesome, punny costume this year. The singer opted to dress like a squirrel, wearing a suit complete with the tail. “can’t talk right now, I’m doin hot squirrel shit 🐿,” Swift wrote on Instagram.

Swift appeared the day before in a much more form-fitting look: a sheer lace jumpsuit, which Swift wore at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame indiction ceremony in Cleveland.

While Swift committed to Halloween with her elaborate squirrel costume, the singer's favorite holiday is actually Christmas.

As Swift told ELLE Taiwan in 2015, “Christmas is my most anticipated holiday. When Christmas is over, I'll start the countdown to see how long it is before the next Christmas. In September, I'll begin to celebrate Christmas by buying gifts for my friends, decorating the house, like if Christmas has come early. I am fascinated by this holiday, I grew up in a Christmas tree farm, so I like the spirit.”

Swift will mark this holiday season by releasing her new, re-recorded 30-track version of Red, which comes out Nov. 12.

In the meantime, Swift did lean into fall vibes on her Instagram, posting a video of herself doing aggressively “basic” fall things. The autumnal vibes in the video complement her squirrel costume—and knowing Swift, it may contain Easter eggs of some sort her fans will uncover sooner or later.

As Swift told Entertainment Weekly in May 2019, she keeps using Easter eggs because Swifties enjoy them so much. “I love that they like the cryptic hint-dropping,” she said. “Because as long as they like it, I'll keep doing it. It's fun. It feels mischievous and playful.”
