It's not a Nightmare On Elm Street any more! Home from movie sells for $2.1M after huge renovation turns it into a dream home

A Los Angeles house famous for giving nightmares has sold for stunning $2.1 million after an extensive renovation.

Feature in the famous 80s slasher film 'A Nightmare on Elm Street', the home's eerie red door featured prominently in some of the movie's most shocking scenes.

Unworried about its history of cinematic terror, Angie Hill purchased the house in 2008 for $1.15 million and spent a year renovating the property.

'It was the only house on the street that looked beaten up. The pool looked like it hadn't been touched in 10 years -- it was black,' she told AOL Real Estate.

Hill managed to turn the 2,700 square foot home into a dream house.
