Works With MacBook Pro M1 with adapters
I bought this cable to use my old Sony HDR-AC1 HDV camcorder. Using a Firewire 800 to Thunderbolt 2 adapter connected to a Thunderbolt 3 adapter that connects to my MacBook Pro M1, I was able to copy footage to my computer. With Final Cut Pro and iMovie I was able to use the cable to import footage. Worked great. This the cable you need to do this. The old Firewire 400 able don't works with these adapter.
