It took me a few years to really sit down and watch this movie. When it first came out, I thought little of it because at first glance Bonnie didn't even have blonde hair. But when I purchased the dvd recently, I gave it a real chance. I had been reading a lot online about the couple, and I was just in the mood to see a fresh-to-me movie on them. I was surprised how well this movie was really done. To date, this is by far the most historically accurate film on Bonnie & Clyde that's been done. I don't think they spent enough time on Bonnie's burns from the battery acid on her leg in their car wreck, nor how bad it was, but they did deal with it. Clyde even has concern over Bonnie's pain medication addiction she used when healing from this burn. Who knew that? When this first came out, I balked at Holly Hunter playing Bonnie's mother, thinking her too young looking. But in real life, Bonnie's mother, Emma Parker, was a younger looking woman - not at all like the 1967 Arthur Penn movie's version where Bonnie's mother was real old. So glad I gave this another chance - this time with more knowledge in me and with an open mind.

plot: very loosely based movie on the Bonnie and Clyde saga.

this version was made in 2013~ of depression era Bonnie and Clyde~ Girl loves bad boy theme is how it starts. Bonnie is attracted to bad boy Clyde Barrow who spends time in and out of the state prison. Bonnie is soon on the run with Clyde where a series of bank robberies and killings are building the *killer couples* fame. Emile Hirsch is Clyde and is good. But the real gem here is Holiday Granger a lovely girl who takes on Bonnie and is an excellent (Holiday is an English girl ) who has a real talent for accents. Very hard to guess this girl is really from the UK. William Hurt is the Texas Ranger who ends up planning the final demise of Bonnie and Clyde. Low budget but the sets and the scenery are well done and the period piece is entertaining. The story holds and we keep watching to see this interesting look at the killer couple of Bonnie and Clyde.
