Origin
The Espostoa laticornua, also known as the Peruvian old man cactus, traces its origin to the Andes region of South America, mainly Peru. The plant is adapted to the difficult conditions in the mountainous areas and most successfully grows on rocky, sun-flooded slopes.

Characteristics
The Espostoa laticornua is an erect, cylindrical cactus that can reach a height of between 7 and 22 cm. A distinctive feature of this species is its dense white woolly 'hair', which gives the plant an old, worn-out appearance. The cactus has strong ribs and striking black thorns that emerge from the woolly coating. In addition, the Espostoa laticornua blooms with nocturnal flowers, mainly in the summer

Care
Esposoa laticornua requires little care and is very tolerant of drought. The location should be sunny and the cactus requires well-draining soil. You should water sparingly, allowing complete drying between watering sessions. It's also important to provide a cool resting period in the winter, during which watering should be limited. Despite its robustness, the plant cannot withstand severe frost, so protection or relocation indoors during cold winter periods is recommended.
