15 Craft Ideas To Do With My Little Pony Coloring Pages

Here are 10 affordable, fun, and creative craft ideas you can do with your completed coloring page!

15. Pony Masks

To make My Little Pony masks out of my pictures, you’re going to use illustrations where the pony’s faces are looking directly (or mostly directly) outward.

You’ll likely have to cut and paste just the faces and then resize them to take up the entire document (so they’ll fit your kids’ faces).

Once you’ve done that, print them off and have your kids color them in and cut them out.

They’ll punch holes on either side of the ponies’ faces and tie off enough ribbon or string so that it’ll make a bow behind their head.

You can add a yarn “mane” to the top of the masks for a finishing touch!

14. Curling Ribbon Mane Ponies

Give Starlight, Sweetheart, and Melody the manes they deserve with different shades of curling ribbon.

You’ll have your kids pick out which ponies they want to bring to life; they’ll color them in and cut them out, carefully snipping off any coloring page mane they might have.

Then, they will strategically punch holes: near the eyes, behind the ears, where the neck meets the back, and naturally, where the tail goes.

Then they can take pieces of curling ribbon and tie them off inside the holes.

If they’re old enough, they can use scissors to curl the ribbon; if not, they can wind it up using a pencil or crayon, holding it for a few seconds and then releasing it.

13. My Little Pony Jewelry

To make My Little Pony jewelry, you will need shrink sheets, which you can buy online at sites like Amazon.

You’ll also need jewelry notions – earring backs or hooks, chains, and O-rings for necklaces, bracelets, anklets, etc.

You’ll have your kids pick out which ponies they want to use, print the illustrations on the shrink sheets, and then color them in and cut them out.

Then, you’ll also want to think ahead about where you want the jewelry pieces to attach; punch holes in the cut-outs once you’ve figured that out.

Bake off the shrink sheet cut-outs per the instructions, then wait for them to cool completely.

Once they’re ready, you can affix all the little jewelry notions (you might also need a hot glue gun to attach some earring backs).

Then, show off your new jewelry – do a fashion show or take pics and post them to Instagram!

12. Paper Doll Ponies

If you’re new to My Little Pony and unsure if your kids will like the toys, you can start them with these paper dolls.

You’ll print off the My Little Pony pictures and have your kids color in the ponies and cut them out.

Then they’ll trace the cut-outs against cardstock and cut out those outlines. They’ll paste the two pieces together, and then you can either leave them like that or paste craft sticks to the back.

Either way, you’ll get an idea of how your kids will play with the ponies before investing money!

11. Pony Tattoos

Did you know you can turn my My Little Pony pictures into temporary tattoos for your kids?

Well, you can! You’ll just need to purchase Silhouette Printable Tattoo Paper.

You can color in the ponies using paint software, Illustrator, or Photoshop and then print them like normal using tattoo paper.

10. Book Covers

You can turn my My Little Pony pictures into an adorable DIY cover for any small book that could use some refurbishing.

You’ll need to do a bit of computer magic first, though; copy/paste the illustration (or illustrations) from its original format into a word processor.

Make the page orientation landscape and fit the picture (if you’re using just one) onto the right-hand side. If you’re doing two pictures, you can put them on either side.

9. Calendars

To brighten a wall or room, turn my My Little Pony illustrations into cute monthly (or weekly) calendars.

You’ll have your kids pick out which pictures they want to use and color them in. Then they can either free-hand or make the calendar grid on the computer.

Next, they’ll punch three or four holes into the bottom of the picture page and the top of the calendar grid page, line them up, and tie them together with ribbon or yarn.

Punch two holes at the top of the picture page for a finishing touch, string some ribbon through, and tie it off. This can be used to hang the calendar on a hook or nail on the wall.

8. Keychains

To make keychains, you will need shrink sheets again and keychain hardware, whether that’s O-rings or clasps, etc. (plus a pair of pliers would be helpful, too).

You’ll have your kids choose which Ponies they want to use, print the illustrations onto the shrink sheets, and have them color them in with markers.

Then they’ll cut them out and punch holes where they want the keychain accessories to attach.

Bake them off per your specific shrink sheet’s instructions and wait for them to cool completely.

Once they’ve cooled, you can attach the keychain hardware and attach any keys they might have.

7. Bookmarks

You can turn these My Little Pony illustrations into some pretty adorable bookmarks with just construction paper and yarn.

You’ll likely want to resize the pictures to be a bit smaller; have your kids choose which Pony figures they want to use, color them in and cut them out.

Then you will cut out a piece of construction paper, roughly three inches by six or eight inches.

Paste the figures onto the construction paper.

And if you want to be really clever, cut off the Ponies’ tails and paste their bodies so that their bottoms are right up against the edge of the paper.

Then you can punch a hole and tie off a bunch of yarn to serve as their “tail”!

6. My Little Pony Mini StoryBook

If your kids love any of the My Little Pony shows – the old ones from the 80s and 90s and the new ones, like the Make Your Mark series on Netflix, they will love this craft.

They’ll pick a few illustrations and write mini-stories to accompany them; they could simply narrate what’s happening in the images or develop a plot.

They’ll color in the pictures and then write a few sentences on each page in the blank spaces.

Add a construction paper cover, take a three-hole punch to the pages, then bind them with ribbon, yarn, or twine.

5. Glittery Ponies

Instead of simply coloring in the My Little Pony pictures, you can have your kids fill in the lines with glitter glue, glue + glitter, or even glittery puffy paint.

Sit them down at a table with a vinyl tablecloth or some sort of drop cloth, and make sure they’re wearing clothes that can get a little, well, messy.

If they’re using glue and glitter, they’ll outline or fill the lines with the glue first and then sprinkle the glitter on second.

Whatever they use, make sure to lie the pages flat until everything is completely dry before picking up the papers and hanging them.

4. Memory Boxes

This fun activity would be perfect for a My Little Pony-themed birthday party.

You’re going to need some small memory or gift boxes, which you can find at any craft store or online at Amazon.

You’ll put out the My Little Pony pictures and have the kids color them in; then, they can cut out as much or as little as they want (or as will fit on the box).

Next, they’ll Mod-Podge the cut-outs to the boxes – and they don’t have to keep it just on the top; they can also Mod-Podge figures to the sides.

3. Memory Games

This craft is a labor of love, as it will take some time to color in all the pictures needed to make a memory game.

You’ll shrink the images down to about three inches by two inches and place them all on the same document (two of each), then print them off.

Your kids will color them in and then paste a piece of cardstock to the back of the page. Then they’ll cut out the rectangles.

This is a great way to use up a rainy day afternoon and have kids practice their memory skills.

2. Party Decorations

Naturally, if your little one wants a My Little Pony birthday party and you’re low on cash, you can use my pictures as homemade decorations on the cheap.

The whole illustrations can be used as place settings or posters, while Pony cut-outs could be strung together for bunting or turned into festive mobiles.

You could use Pony cut-outs on the gift baggies, too, or attach note cards and have them label the food items at your spread.

1. Greeting Cards

Whether it’s someone’s birthday or you just want to say hello to Grandma and Grandpa, these My Little Pony pictures would make such cute greeting cards.

If you wanted to fold the page into fourths, you would copy/paste the illustration onto a document and put it in the upper-left corner – upside down.

I know that seems weird, but trust the process – once you fold the page in half and then in half again, the picture will be on the front!
