Distribution and Habitat

Gillingarra to Dwellingup, growing in lateritic and granitic soils in forests and woodlands.

Description

A common early flowering species 200–500 mm high with two to three smooth leaves 140–200 mm long by 8–10 mm wide and up to 15 yellow and brown flowers 20–30 mm across.

Distinguishing Features

It is distinguished from the related South Coast Donkey Orchid (Diuris brockmanii) by its taller stature, more numerous, larger flowers and more northerly distribution. From the similar Common Donkey Orchid (D. corymbosa) it is distinguished by its earlier flowering period.
