IGARAPÉ RIVER PARK

Year: 2022

National public competition for Igarapé River Park. The project starts from an ecological-social infrastructure supported by two guidelines: (1) adressing the impact of rainfall on the territory through increasing its efficiency during ecological crisis such as flooding, poor sanitary conditions of the Igarapé water and the silting processes in the canal; (2) enhancing the landscape structure of a contemporary urban park and mainly to the outskirts, highlighting new possibilies for breaking the sociospatial segregation that underlies many Brazilian cities.

Where Júlio Cesar Avenue meets the park, a bus station was designed under a suspended Plaza structure by metallic profiles. The structure is intended to accommodate people accessing the park, in addition to defining a metropolitan visual landmark and enable visual experiences with the landscape.

The Three Squares

Year: 2021

Team: Larissa Scheuer, Elena Geppeti, Victor Huggo, Isadora Ricker and Mylenna Linares

Renders: Studio 3d Arquitetura

The Project is based on a striking feature of many large brazilian cities: the lack of quality in open spaces, especially in territories occupied by communities of medium and low income. Besides being potential providers of ecosystem services, urban squares are essential to mitigation and adaptation efforts to climate change effects, especially those related to the occurrence of landslides, floods, waves and heat islands. In general terms, the conception of the squares follows two main objectives: to enhance the ecological functions of the existing open areas and to enable them to host sports and leisure activities, focusing on those that take place outdoors.
