Are Lycaste orchids rare to find?
Hi everyone!
I was wondering if any orchid expert out there knows if Lycaste orchids are rare or hard to find? If so, why?
I found this beautiful orchid at a pop up market place in Hawaii and now I’m looking for more (preferably a white color) but I don’t know where to find them. I’m personally new to orchids. Thank you! #OrchidLovers

I’ve been searching for the answer and an expert told me the following so I thought I would share in case if anyone was interested in Lycaste orchids. Although this info is directed towards Hawaii, I’m guessing these are a bit temp sensitive and possibly harder to have success with depending on where you’re at. I also saw from another source that pests seem to like these plants. Anyway, I still love this Lycaste and will get more soon as I found a grower.
“Lycastes are not often available in Hawaii as most are cool growing. Most warm growing ones have small yellow or brown flowers. Lys. Red Jewel is one of the few large flowered ones that can grow warm.”
