I found this picture of the King Rat (Uromys rex) while tooling around IUCN’s Amazing Species page. I only know what I found on that page–they’re from the Solomon Islands, they were discovered in 1988, and they live in trees.
There doesn’t seem to be a whole lot more information about these guys. But they’re called King Rats! Are they bigger than most rats? Or just more noble? If anyone has more information about King Rats (not Rat Kings) I’d love to hear it.
