Description:

The Blue Torch Cactus (Pilosocereus azureus) is a columnar-type cactus with a spectacular blue hue. It has a blue trunk with golden/orange spikes along the ribs. It produces white blooms at night (April to July) that only last for one night. It is native to the regions of semi tropical areas of Brazil, Mexico, and the Caribbean.

Pot: Plants will be delivered in black plastic nursery pots

Growth: Slow Growing 

Mature Size: 10-30 ft. tall and (stems) 3-4 in. wide

Maintenance: Generally low

Soil: Like most succulents, these plants prefer a sandy soil (cactus mix) that has excellent drainage that does not retain water. 

Water: Let the soil dry out between watering. Watering every week to every other week is generally enough. If growing in a pot, ensure not to overwater. Overwatering will cause roots to rot.

We always do our best to accommodate our customers’ delivery needs.  However, we are not always able to guarantee delivery at a specific time of day, especially during busy holiday periods.  To request a specific delivery time, please type it into the Special Delivery Instructions field during checkout. Before major holidays, we strongly recommend that you place your orders several days in advance.  
 
Taxes are based on prevailing rates in the area of our store location.

Delivery to Hospitals 

When placing your order, please be sure to include the hospital name and telephone number, the name of the recipient and room number or ward of the recipient. We will send your gift plant in accordance with facility procedures, as most hospitals do not allow to personally deliver to individual rooms. Please note that many ICU patients are not permitted to receive plants. Please check with the hospital before placing your order. 

 

Recipient Not Home 

If No One is Home: Depending on the delivery location, if the recipient is not available at the time of delivery, the delivery person may leave the plant in a safe place for the recipient to retrieve when they return, such as with a neighbor, or leave a message for the recipient to call to arrange for delivery. 

Recipient May be Contacted: In some cases, we may contact the recipient to ensure she/he will be home to accept the delivery. 

Request to Leave Item at Door: The customer assumes all liability for requests to leave plants. We highly discourage special instructions requesting delivery to a doorstep, porch, yard or any location where the recipient cannot accept the plant themselves. We cannot be held responsible for missing or faulty product due to this special request. 

 

Substitution Policy 

Because of the nature, seasonality, and regional availability of cacti/succulents plants it is sometimes necessary to make substitutions of equal or greater value. We will contact customer to confirm any changes.

 

Data Privacy

By ordering from our website customer data such as name, address, email, phone number, and credit card will be securely saved within the order itself for processing purposes. If an account is created when checking out, the system will save this information to expedite future purchases. Checking out as a guest will cause the system to not retain this data outside of what is necessary for processing the specified order.

Cancellation 

To provide you with the best possible service, you can cancel your order at anytime prior to delivery. If your plant is en route or delivered, we will be unable to cancel the order. To cancel an order, please call our store (305) 849-1374. 

 

Returns/Refunds

As the purchaser of items, the purchaser agrees that: All sales are final.

As cacti/succulents are a perishable item, returns are only accepted under the following circumstances:
All issues must be indicated to us within 24 hours of delivery by calling (305) 849-1374 or emailing CustomerService@desertscapesfl.com — if you are calling after hours, please leave a message with a time to reach you and phone number and we will call the next business day.

We will happily replace any damaged item, which may have had its quality affected during delivery.
As items are perishable, we do not issue refunds, however if the issue cannot be resolved, an in-store credit may be available.

Returns are accepted on a “quality” basis only — issues of “not liking” the plant are not grounds for a return.

As cacti/succulents are perishable, you must water as needed, do not overwater, otherwise they will not last long. It is the recipient’s responsibility to water the plant.

If you are ordering an plant for someone else, be sure you are choosing something they would like — style preferences are not grounds for returns.

As all cacti/succulents are not always in season. If you require a specific product, please call and check for its availability.

Delivery times are generalized to “morning” and “afternoon” deliveries. If you require a timed delivery, please call us at (305) 849-1374..

It is your responsibility, as the sender, to ensure that the recipient will be at the location of the delivery on the date of delivery. If the recipient goes home early (if delivered to a workplace) or is out of town (for home deliveries), unbeknownst to us, it is not cause for refund or exchange as we have fulfilled our obligation in delivering upon the date of request as ordered by the sender.
