Abudefduf sexfasciatus

Five dark vertical markings, back often yellowish.

Size : 20 cm

Habitat : At the upper slopes of lagoons and outreefs, 0.5-15 m. Common, not shy. Sometimes in large groups above or in the open water in front of the reef. Predominantly feeds on zooplankton, occasionally also on outgrowth algae.

Distribution : Red Sea and East Africa to S Japan, Micronesia and GBR.
