Basionym: Dendrobium javanicum

Rhizome creeping, rather thick, roots rather thick, flexuose, villose. Pseudobulbs distant, 2-leaved, ovoid, somewhat laterally compressed, 4-5 by 2 cm. Leaf sheaths 2.5-3 cm long. Leaves erect-patent, lanceolate, 40-45 by 4.5-6 cm, rather thick, glabrous, with prominent veins, base subpetiolate, apex acuminate. Inflorescences from near the apex of the pseudobulb, racemose, erect, straight, about as long as the leaves, at the base terete, upwards subangular, peduncle-scales distant, acuminate, laxly several-flowered. Floral bracts lanceolate, about as long as the ovary, apex acuminate. Pedicel and ovary 1 cm long, clavate, with stellate hairs. Flowers c. 4 cm across. Sepals outside covered with stellate hairs. Dorsal sepal narrowly lanceolate, 2.7 cm long, apex subacuminate. Lateral sepals obliquely narrowly lanceolate, falcate, a little widened at the base, 2.7 cm long, apex subacuminate. Petals narrowly lanceolate, falcate, 2.7 cm long, apex subacuminate. Lip 3-lobed near the middle, 1.5 by 0.6 cm, with 3 lamellae extending from base to apex, these somewhat undulate in apical half; lateral lobes short, rounded; mid-lobe much larger, oblong, margins undulate, shortly acuminate. Column short, clinandrium dorsally with a subcrenulate lobule. Anther cucullate, in front broadly obtuse.
