GYRO 100 represents a series of Autogyro designed for multirole apllications, thinking about a machine quite affordable for civilian employement, all the following project are just conceptual studies.

Gyros are very interesting by this point of view , my intention is continuing to work designing more aircraft in the time. Autogyros are some of the most ancient flying rotary-wings machine and they open the way to modern helicopters. After the complex development the helicopter concept they were abandoned for a while particularly for commercial use while are still operating for sport and reacrational activity. I think this aircraft can still offer many services in the commercial aviation environment expecially its own characteristics that makes a machine like this very easy to manage.

Today several companies as well as private builders pointed their attention to this machine having in some cases a very actractive design making them very interesssting.

GYRO 100 is a compact machine, an encosed type, with an advanced aerodynamic which has a cool impact of the fuselage. Personally I believe it's time to develop more interesting as well affordable aircraft of this kind, technologically advanced, and off-course having a cool look, employing a motitude of new materials. GGyro 100 is a two seat aircraft equipped with a 160 hp little gas turbine. Dash is fully electronic with a single LCD touch screen type included of Flydat and endurance computer.

The aircraft is equipped with twin flight controls fly-by-wire type, electric trim and electric landing gear. The machine is provided of a steal frame that to support the engine and thransmission, the inner shell of the fuselage is made by both alluminium and composite fiberglass, a three blades propellers installed behind the cabin makes the aircraft a pushing-configuration, besides propeller can be controlled through a variable pitch control in flight.

GYRO 100 is particularly indicated not only fro reactional purpouse but as well for surveillance and patrolling in remote area where temperature and terrain are not favourable for open cockpit type. Landing gear are retractable and they keep the aircraft quite high from the ground when deployed, in-fact posterior landing gear were setled in the far back position to facilitate the touch down making it very comfortable. All three landing gear has small oil dumpers.

A special version (B) is provvided of collective pitch control allowing the aircraft to make jump-take-off. Although gyros are not capable to fly at fixed point or hoveing as a helicopter does quite easly they can glide very smooth and land even with the engine cutted off. Autogyro was invented and developed in the late 30's being a succesfull aircfat of that time today thanks to contemporary technologies companies like the Cartercopter Aviation are considering to increasing its potential application and operative speed.

Recently I disovered an Austrian company which intentionally or not made a 90% copy of the GYRO 100, from the tail wings concept with integrated landing gears, up to the dome, as well employing digital intrumentation and their first aicraft was issued in the late 2009 or so. Gyro was pubblished on this site in the summer of 2003 - when the project was concieved - remaining one of the most interesting as well advanced aircraft of his kind pubblished on the web.
