Circumscript Mompha Murtfeldt's Mompha Red-streaked Mompha

What are they?

Tiny moths that rest with wings folded into a tube shape and with small tufts of scales that stick up on the top side of the forewings. Larvae are mostly borers in plant stems.

Identification

Very small, cigar-shaped moths which often have extensive white areas that make them resemble bird droppings. Identification often requires very close study of the extent and pattern of the white areas on the wings.
